A proposition for an art gallery, placed on the edge of Cheddar Reservoir. The pathway leading around the reservoir leads straight onto the 1st floor of the building .
The first floor contains a café area which leads downstairs. On the lower level you're lead through a series of gallery rooms. At the end you come back up into the gift shop and exit the building.

The concept was to design a building that would blend into the landscape and be attractive, not an eye-sore. To this end the roofs are all covered in grass, and there's a pathway that leads straight through the building, going over the lower level. There are many glass walls and windows to let in as much natural light as possible and make the user feel like they're not so enclosed inside the building.

A physical model was created alongside a 3D render.
